Dark wings curl behind sighs of cloud
Streams of stardust swirling free
All is done, all is dealt
Demanding sunbeams laid to rest
And comfort blinking bashfully
Its glowing, flushed, radiant breath
Beneath the feathers of raven sky
And out of sight of weeping day
Hangs as a fog between our feet
Caresses ankles, bare and chill
And lays me down within your reach
To shroud us from pale morning’s light
Protect us as we feign our sleep
